NEW YORK (360Dx) – ARUP Laboratories and Techcyte said on Tuesday they have partnered to develop and commercialize digital diagnostic solutions.
The products will leverage artificial intelligence from labs globally, they said. Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Orem Utah, Techcyte's digital diagnostics' platform applies convolutional neural networks to deliver fast and accurate results to doctors and patients. The platform supports whole-slide scanners and multiple tests, including blood differential, cervical cytology, fine needle aspiration, ova and parasites, urinalysis, and bacteriology.
The partners said that the collaboration will accelerate the number of new test algorithms available to the lab diagnostics market.
"Our partnership with Techcyte provides us with the tools to remain in the forefront of laboratory medicine," ARUP Lab CEO Sherrie Perkins said in a statement. "The emphasis on deep learning analytics will help ARUP expand automation efforts, which in turn drives our quality, efficiency, and containment of healthcare costs."
