NEW YORK — GeneDx said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to offer genomic services to neonatal intensive care units associated with physician services firm Pediatrix Medical Group.
Under the terms of the deal, GeneDx will provide next-generation sequencing in support of clinical diagnosis in neonatal intensive care units staffed with Pediatrix-affiliated neonatologists across the US. GeneDx said that initial offerings will include whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing, as well as genomic support services, under the brand Detect Genomix.
Additional terms were not disclosed.
"Our combined network of more than 2,200 affiliated physicians and GeneDx's more than 100 genetic counselors will make Detect Genomix one of the nation's largest neonatal genomics platforms," Pediatrix Chief Quality and Innovation Officer Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes said in a statement.
GeneDx is a Gaithersburg, Maryland-based subsidiary of BioReference Laboratories, an Opko Health subsidiary.
