Siemens High Sensitivity Troponin I Assay
Siemens Healthineers launched its high-sensitivity troponin I in vitro diagnostic assay to aid in diagnosing acute myocardial infarction by quantitatively measuring cardiac troponin I in serum or plasma. High-sensitivity troponon plays a crucial role in the timely diagnosis or AMI or heart attacks, and compared to traditional troponin assays, Siemens' TNIH assay can detect lower levels of troponin and smaller changes in a patient's troponin levels, allowing clinicians greater confidence in patient results at the low end of the assay range, the company said. The assay is available for use on the Advia Centaur XPT and Advia Centaur XP systems. Siemens also plans to make the high-sensitivity troponin I assays available on the firm's other systems, such as the Dimension Vista, Dimension EXL, and Atellica IM Analyzer.
