Job Description

The Senior International Tax Associate works as part of a team to support and facilitate the international aspects of U.S. federal compliance, transfer pricing and income tax accounting. The selected candidate will also assist with foreign indirect tax functions and interacts directly with different functions of the organization to provide practical guidance on tax technical issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Completes international aspects of the U.S. tax return compliance, including GILTI, FDII, and Subpart F calculations, supporting workpapers for foreign tax credit, income sourcing and expense allocation, and related forms

  • Maintains earnings and profits and foreign tax pools of company's foreign subsidiaries

  • Assists Director of Tax with tax planning decisions related to the company’s multinational business, including management of global effective tax rate and cash positions

  • Prepares current and deferred foreign tax provisions, including ETR forecasting, return-to-accrual calculations, and account rollforwards

  • Coordinates transfer pricing studies with outside consulting firm and prepares annual documentation memos and analysis

  • Maintenance of intercompany price lists, forecasting and adjusting intercompany profit to conform to expectations established in transfer pricing studies

  • Review of VAT on shipping and coordination with consulting firm on reclaim efforts

  • Manage U.S. tax compliance related to withholding tax and work with tax team to assess cross-border transactions for withholding tax implications

  • Assist with transfer pricing aspects of inter-and intra-company agreements

  • Research international tax issues, document, and communicate findings

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Tax, Accounting, or Finance

  • Master's degree and/or CPA license preferred

  • Two to five years' experience related to income tax, tax accounting, or financial accounting

  • Experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department

TRAINING, SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Able to meet deadlines, handle confidential data, and interface effectively with professionals throughout an organization regarding tax issues

  • Strong experience in tax related GAAP and tax accounting methods (ASC 740)

  • Working knowledge of tax software programs such as Gosystems, Prosystems, and Onesource Tax Provision (Taxstream)

  • Knowledge of Oracle or ERP systems is a plus

  • Ability to identify issues, analyze and develop answers/solutions

  • Moderate level of research skills for determining applicability of laws, regulations and court cases

  • Strong organizational and time management attributes with ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills

  • Display teamwork and responsibility

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer software applications, including strong Excel skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must work onsite at Luminex office at least 90% of the time

  • Travel may be required approximately: 0% of the time, no travel required
