How will you make an impact?

The Genetic Testing Solutions group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist III to work on a team providing clinical application support to clients, partners and internal departments. The position includes design and execution of studies supporting clinical and research applications. The candidate will have strong background in molecular biology, excellent writing and communication skills, an understanding of regulated product (IVD) market, and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

 

What will you do?

  • Interact with customers to solve problems and provide solutions using Thermo Fisher qPCR analysis tools

  • Design, plan and execute experiments that support development of new products and solutions.

  • Be the liaison between R&D, Clinical and Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing, and Business Development to effectively support our customers

  • Support collaborations with external partners and with Key Opinion Leaders (“KOLs”)

  • Provide advanced product support to customers and internal/ external partners

  • Prepare and present technical documents and presentations to stakeholders

  • Assist with pre-sale education and clinical support to potential customers

  • Support product launch activities with a strong “customer-first” mindset

  • Drive continuous process improvement

Requirements

Education

BA/BS Degree, 5+ years/ MS Degree, 3+ years/ PhD Degree, 2+ years of industry experience

 

Experience

  • Proven ability to execute complex experiments independently, perform statistical analysis, interpret experimental results, and make sound conclusions

  • Strong background in molecular biology (including DNA, RNA and protein handling, PCR, qPCR, quantification methods), preferably for infectious diseases and oncology

  • Hands-on experience in nucleic acid extraction methods, qPCR diagnostic molecular technologies and automation

  • Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products, preferably in molecular diagnostics

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office and using statistical software

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets from various sources

  • Demonstrated passion for problem solving and outside-the-box thinking

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations to senior leadership and large audiences

  • Ability to operate effectively both independently and within (cross functional) teams

  • Must be tolerant to change, ready to take on new challenges and open to learning new skills

  • Resourceful and flexible with strong troubleshooting skills
