The Scientist (Hematological Cancer) will serve as a scientific curator of narratives for various genetic alterations and building the Hematologic Cancer Knowledge Base at Sema4. The candidate must demonstrate excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to identify significant findings on specific genetic alterations and associated therapeutics by sifting through large amounts of literature, in a timely manner. This Scientist will be a member of a strong team of excellent scientists and will play an integral role in providing physicians with the most current information on patient alterations. Responsibilities: • Quickly adapt to a new field of knowledge. • Familiarize with and utilize the most up-to-date literature and extract relevant information. • Provide on-the-fly curation of specific alterations as patient samples come through Sema4. • Assist in building tools to support the curation of hematological cancer alteration narratives. • Serve as an expert in hematologic cancer types and associated genetic alterations. Qualifications • PhD or advanced degree in Cellular/Molecular, Cancer Biology, or Genomic Sciences. • 2+ years experience in hematological oncology research. • Previous experience in scientific writing/curation is preferred. • Must be organized, resourceful and detail oriented. • Must have experience with meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
