Job Description

Job Description –Scientist/Biomedical Engineer
Aikili Biosystems is a life sciences company spun out of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, headquartered in Boston. We are a fast-growing startup developing a next-generation diagnostic profiling platform for precision oncology, building on clinical results recently published in Science Translational Medicine. Our platform enables highly multiplexed protein analysis across the translational pathway, with initial applications in solid tumor profiling for point-of-care settings (e.g., global health settings) and biomarker validation and profiling in trials for immunotherapies.

We are hiring a Scientist or Biomedical Engineer to support our research and development activities, who will work in concert with our CEO, Senior Research Scientist, and Scientific Advisory Board.  The primary responsibilities for this role include leading the technical work for Aikili’s point-of-care diagnostic tool and managing its deployment in trials with leading partners in the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa. Further responsibilities include:

                i.       Designing and performing key experiments to validate and develop our diagnostic platform

ii.        Learning and executing Aikili’s assay and conducting data analysis on clinical samples

iii.        Training our clinical trial partners to use the technology; providing technical backstopping on quality control

iv.        Potential support for field testing in Kenya
