Job Description

Prevencio is looking for someone who is available to work full-time immediately, or transition from part-time to full-time within the next 3-6 months. This is a hands-on analytical role with opportunities for business leadership. The position will work with and report to our CEO, with a dotted line to our Analytics Consultant.


As Principal Analyst/V.P. of Analytics, you will be creating, evaluating and validating predictive models based on patient-level biomarker and clinical data to create diagnostic and prognostic tests for various cardiovascular syndromes. Specific responsibilities include:


    • Use strategic thinking to prepare raw data for analysis, including cleaning, transforming, scaling, and integrating;

    • Building and evaluating diagnostic and prognostic models with machine learning methods, via cross-validation and internal validation sets;

    • Validating existing models on new data;

    • Creating inferential and exploratory analyses as needed;

    • Contributing to clinical development and plan preparation;

    • Reviewing of study protocols and preparation of statistical methodologies;

    • Building effective data visualizations, tables, and reports;

    • Contributing to scientific abstracts, posters and papers;

    • Maintaining good statistical and data-management practices;

    • Creating and and adhering to rigorous data-storage and management practices;

    • Working effectively with the Prevencio team and external collaborators.


The traits we are looking for in an ideal candidate include:


    • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in biostatistics, computer science, statistics, or a similar quantitative field;

    • Experienced with inferential and predictive data analytics in R, including supervised learning and survival analysis;

    • Experienced with study design and sample size calculations, including identifying and defining research problems, and designing analytical approaches, hypotheses and methodologies;

    • Experienced with proteomics data (e.g., immunoassays), and other types of bioassay data;

    • Experienced with using internet- and cloud-based technologies for facilitating version control with distributed coding teams (e.g., version control via GitHub, or file sharing via Amazon S3);

    • Experienced with analyzing and managing real-world datasets;

    • Willing to embrace shifting priorities;

    • A keen eye for detail;

    • Good communication skills;

    • Works well with a team, including other analysts and scientific collaborators;

    • Is curious and driven;

    • Is located in the continental United States and legally able to work within the U.S.A.

Prevencio is revolutionizing blood tests for cardiovascular disease. Prevencio utilizes Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence) + Multi-Proteomic Biomarkers + Proprietary Algorithms to deliver cardiovascular diagnostic & prognostic tests that are significantly more accurate than standard-of-care stress tests, individual biomarkers, genetic markers and clinical risk scores. Employing this novel approach, the company has developed six blood tests to date (with more in development) that significantly improve diagnoses for a variety of heart and blood vessel-related complications.


These tests are:


    • HART CAD[TM] – obstructive coronary artery disease diagnosis

    • HART CVE[TM] – 1-year risk of heart attack, stroke or cardiac death

    • HART PAD[TM] – peripheral artery disease diagnosis

    • HART AS[TM] – aortic valve stenosis diagnosis

    • HART AMP[TM] – risk of amputation

    • HART AKI[TM] – risk of acute kidney injury


Prevencio is based in Kirkland, Washington, and is led by an industry-recognized CEO with team members located in the U.S. and around the world. Prevencio has developed and validated novel blood tests with world-renown Key Opinion Leaders/Principal Investigators/Scientific Collaborators. In the past two years, Prevencio has produced 12 presentations and publications at leading cardiology meetings and in peer-reviewed cardiology journals.


As a Prevencio team member, you will have a unique opportunity to expand your scientific contributions and authorship. Since Prevencio is a virtual company with investigators worldwide, the work hours are flexible. The majority of the work can be done from home, if desired. Corporate work space in the Seattle area is available should that be preferable. On average, there will be 1-2 calls per week scheduled with team members and external partners, and 3-4 periodic in-person meetings per year.
