Job Description

Working as part of the operations team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for completion of clinical test delivery processes (i.e. to CLIA, ISO15189 or any other pertinent clinical testing standards) and for assisting in the daily, efficient running of the Almac Diagnostics Laboratories. This includes specimen receipt, specimen processing, quality control assessment and report generation and covers a range of high complexity molecular technologies including microarray, qPCR and Next Generation Sequencing.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science, Biology, Molecular Biology or related life sciences discipline
  • At least one year of laboratory experience and/or training in molecular biology technologies
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in all work undertaken
  • Proven ability to organise, plan and prioritise tasks within a high volume varied workload
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment


Desirable Criteria

(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist (or equivalent)
  • Practical experience performing high complexity molecular testing in a regulated clinical testing environment
