Are you a motivated and driven individual with a passion for genomics and molecular biology? Join our research team as a Graduate Intern to contribute to groundbreaking research in functional genomics using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic about advancing our understanding of genetic dependencies in preclinical models of pancreas cancer.

Position Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Intern you will play a pivotal role in conducting functional genomics experiments utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 technology. You will be an integral part of our research team, assisting in CRISPR functional screens, developing genetic screen assays, performing mammalian cell culture, and conducting PCR and molecular cloning. Your contributions will directly impact our efforts to unravel the genetic underpinnings of pancreas cancer and identify potential therapeutic targets. The duration of the role is temporary (five months) however; the candidate’s availability can be fulltime or part time hours.

Position Details:

Assist in designing and executing CRISPR functional screens to uncover genetic dependencies in preclinical pancreas cancer models.
Contribute to the development of genetic screen assays using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
Perform mammalian cell culture, including both human and mouse cell lines and organoid systems .
Conduct PCR and molecular cloning experiments to support gene-editing and genetic analysis.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and contributing to project discussions.
Maintain detailed and organized experimental records, analyze data, and present findings as needed.
Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and technological advancements in the field.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or a related discipline (minimum requirement: BS/BA in Biology).
Minimum of one year of research experience, ideally in a molecular biology or genomics-focused setting.
Strong experience in mammalian cell culture, including human and mouse cell lines.
Proficiency in PCR and molecular cloning techniques.
Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9 technology and its applications is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Motivated and eager to learn about functional genomics and pancreas cancer biology.
