As an RIS Business Finance Chapter Lead (Director), you will lead and manage a team of talented Finance Partners to drive strategic decision making on portfolio investments/management while supporting P&L activities. As a member of the Finance Leadership team, you will partner with the Provider Insights business to align on budgetary commitments and priorities for R&D Development, Marketing, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and lead the RIS Business Finance chapter that supports and delivers high quality support to RIS Customer Area Leaders and their organizations (Provider Insights, Lab Insights)

Act as Finance Business Partner to RIS Customer Area Head for Provider Insights

Support development of strategic direction and decision making for Customer Area, Disease Area, and Life Cycle Area

Drive and enable the finance network towards Customer Area business objectives across division

Drive profitability deep dives and segment reviews including divestment/ restructuring decisions

Create Customer Area Business Plan including long-term lifecycle management

Create and challenge Business & Investment cases

Enable RIS portfolio decisions, support Customer Area Portfolio management & prioritization in close collaboration with PPM organization

Partner to generate different scenarios based on business objectives and help to objectively identify benefits and risks of each

Enable and synchronize Strategic Portfolio Committee (SPC) operations within/across Customer Area (e.g., budget allocation)

Secure financial sustainability of investment decisions, best use of resources and supporting funding for business opportunities

Ensure delivery vs Customer Area profitability targets and drive decisions to balance short and medium P&L

Drive short, mid, and long term P/L of Customer Area while defining/tracking business/ profitability objectives and outcomes

Enable and challenge M&A, Partnering, Licensing activities decisions

Management of Customer Area and Life Cycle budget

Drive opportunities to continuously harmonize and simplify finance processes and ensure consistency across Business Areas while recognizing and adapting to the different needs for the digital business

Find opportunities to continuously improve the stakeholder experience

Member of Customer Area governance committees / squads (SPC, etc.)

Member of the Business Area Finance, RIS Finance and Provider Insights Leadership Team

Steer self-aligning networks while empowering decision-making at the lowest most appropriate level and role modeling the new ways of working

Strong Leadership inside Business Area Finance, but also across DIA Finance in playing a strong Catalyst role in the cultural change

Enable Business Finance Partners to focus on their key activities

Requirements

What You Bring:

Bachelor degree is required; CPA/CFA/MBA is a plus

10+ years of work experience with a minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience

Proven track record of broad Finance knowledge and Business Partner experience

Proven leader, with enterprise focus, promoting diverse and inclusive environments, and a focus on the right work for the highest impact

Track record in supporting digital health businesses with deep understanding of associated business models, business performance, business and financial metrics and portfolios is highly preferred

Experience with Software as a Service business models and knowledge of SaaS financial infrastructure, e.g. revenue recognition guidelines and options; differentiation between services expenses and R&D expenses; software capitalization pros & cons and requirements.

Genuine interest in people, their development and building a successful organization by role-modeling new ways of working

Strong desire to experiment with new ways of working by piloting new areas and capabilities leveraging a strong team of Finance professionals

Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and business partnership in a global and local organization

Broad working experience across geographies, business and roles

Entrepreneurial mindset, strong inspiring, communication, negotiation and influencing skills

Demonstrates an understanding of the market dynamics, and continuously expands their affinity of the customer area’s product portfolio
