We are seeking people that have a passion for developing technologies and tools that benefit the broader researcher community in the discovery of human biology, have a strong interest in single-cell sequencing as a disruptive and enabling technology and see the potential for our patented split-pool barcoding and combinatorial indexing methods.
We are seeking passionate, driven Scientists for our Transcriptomics Product Development team (scRNA-seq, targeted sequencing and multi-omics). Reporting to our Transcriptomics lead, you will work hands-on to develop single-cell RNA-seq assay products in support of multiple applications across multiple fields of study.
What You'll Do:
•Systematically design, execute, analyze, and interpret controlled experiments to address key product development requirements for single cell genomics assays.
•Use molecular biology techniques, such as PCR/qPCR and single cell NGS library preparation, to test single cell genomics assays for assay reproducibility, assay robustness, and reagent stability.
•Improve assay performance for existing and new assays based on systematic feedback from customers and collaborators, our field scientist team, and our marketing team.
•Collaborate with internal and external parties and routinely present experimental findings to internal and external parties.
•Aid in the development of QC methods for reagents and consumables for analytical, orthogonal, and functional testing.
•Write, implement, and validate SOPs and customer facing documentation.
•Participate in assay verification and validation experiments.
•Participate in the transition of any product changes from the R&D department to manufacturing and production, helping to identify and mitigate risks.
•Advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or related fields.
•0-1+ years’ experience required for PhD Scientists, 3+ years’ experience required for MS degree holders, 5+ years’ experience required for BS degree holders, with relevant industry experience.
•A driven self-starter committed to working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
•Experience with next generation sequencing, genomics and/or proteomics technologies.
•Relevant experience or knowledge of RNAseq, preferably using single-cell sequencing methods and technologies (e.g. SMART-seq, SPLiT-seq, sci-RNA-seq, scifi-RNA-seq, etc).
•Excellent communication skills & track record of collaboration and teamwork.
•Experience using statistical tools, such as JMP to analyze complex data sets, create DOE experiments, and data trending are a plus.
•Knowledge of and/or experience with Bioinformatics is a plus.
