Job Title:                            Associate Director of Renewal Sales

Department:                     Sales

Reports to:                        Senior Director of Operations & Marketing

Position Type:                  Non-Exempt


Priority Responsibility

Support the Golden Helix team in generating revenue and increasing customer satisfaction by working with existing customers to secure renewals, obtain referrals, and sell additional functionality and/or license. The Associate Director of Renewals plays an important role in our new sales efforts as well to help facilitate outbound prospecting with basic sales outreach, follow up, and excellent customer service skills.



  • Proactively contact customers to maximize software usage and uncover upsell opportunities and referrals.
  • Process renewal sales for the install base, maintaining or increasing renewal rates.
  • Work closely with the support and training staff to ensure that customers’ technical questions are resolved.
  • Generate accurate sales reports and forecasts for weekly review with the Sales, Marketing, and Support Team.
  • Learn and adhere to GHI’s documented sales processes, utilizing complex selling techniques.
  • Provide excellent service in all customer and prospect interactions.
  • Other sales tasks as assigned.



  • Outbound email and calls to prospects
  • Provide product, promotion and pricing information from customer requests, forwarding information, answering customer questions
  • Contact customers and prospects to arrange appointments or to make follow-up calls
  • Develop, edit, and publish content for a range of digital communications channels
  • Execute weekly targeted emails as well as targeted database management
  • Manage extensive email and mailing database
  • Other duties as assigned



  • 1-2 years inside sales experience, preferably in a technical Business-to-Business or Business-to-Academia environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to convey complex technical solutions to a sophisticated customer base.
  • The ability and desire to acquire genetics and statistics domain knowledge
  • Organized, self-motivated and results driven.
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities.
