Job Description

Position Overview:

  • Prospecting – Design, formulate and implement prospecting strategies including the acquisition of appropriate databases for use in determining target prospects;
  • Qualify – Perform outbound calls to target prospects to qualify opportunities; assist with business development within Regional Business Directors’ territories to maximize opportunities, Evaluation install appointments and Evaluation closes;
  • Expedite – Work collaboratively with Regional Business Directors and VP of Sales & Marketing to influence the full lead cycle from origination of a qualified lead, through opportunity and closed business;
  • Opportunity Management - document bed size, current testing methodology, key contacts, interest, etc. in Salesforce; document all prospect interactions

Responsibilities

  • Source new sales opportunities through outbound cold calling;
  • Utilize existing prospect list to prioritize and schedule system evaluations;
  • Effectively qualify leads and identify prospect needs;
  • Conduct technical conversations with key decision makers;
  • Develop and manage a national pipeline of business to meet goals;
  • Schedule appointments face-to-face sales appoints for Regional Business Directors as necessary;
  • Prioritize issues appropriately and manage to a satisfactory resolution

Requirements

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science (Clinical Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry). Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
  • 2+ years of diagnostic industry-related experience  

Knowledge and skills:  

  • Documented success with Molecular Diagnostic/PCR Sales (sample-to-result) is strongly preferred
  • Effective in leading, influencing and persuading others, results driven, self-motivated, demonstrated ability to plan and organize, and possessing solid communication and selling skills 
  • Ability to manage effective collaboration and coordination of internal resources to ensure company sales goals are met 
  • Ability to clearly and consistently communicate Great Basin’s value proposition in all interactions
  • Ability to connect with and coordinate between key customers and internal/external stakeholders to promote and expand business opportunities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications
  • Skilled using a CRM application such as Salesforce.com
