NEW YORK (360Dx) – Women's health company Modernity Fertility today announced it has raised $6 million for the expansion of its operations.
The San Francisco-based firm also launched its fertility test.
Maveron and Union Square Ventures led the financing. Also participating were Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary's Sound Ventures, SV Angel, #Angels, and other angel investors. The funds will go toward additional hires and additional studies in fertility science, the company said. It previously received $1 million from investors including First Round Capital, Box Group, and Y Combinator, bringing the total amount Modern Fertility has raised to $7 million.
The firm also launched its finger prick test, which analyzes hormones such as anti-Mullerian hormone and follicle stimulating hormone + estradiol. The test costs $199. It is not available in New York, New Jersey, or Rhode Island, according to Modern Fertility's website.
