NEW YORK – At-home hormone testing company MFB Fertility announced on Thursday that its PdG tests have received CE marking for self-testing.
The Proov tests measure the presence of pregnanediol glucuronide, an analyte of the hormone progesterone found in a patient's urine. Progesterone prepares the uterine lining for implantation and without enough of it after ovulation, conception can be difficult, the Boulder, Colorado-based company said in a statement.
The tests can help patients measure ovulation quality to determine if enough progesterone was produced for a healthy ovulation, increasing the chances for successful conception.
The noninvasive tests are available on Amazon and the company's website and will expand to additional e-tailers, MFB added. The test received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration in March 2020.
