NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – PreventionGenetics said late Monday that it received a New York State Department of Health license.

The company previously received CLIA accreditation, as well as ISO 15189:2012 accreditation, allowing it to perform clinical genetic testing on human specimens in the US and internationally. New York and a few other states require additional licensure, however. PreventionGenetics will now be able to perform testing on specimens from New York without an additional permit application process, the company's Founder and President James Weber said in a statement.
