Streck Antibiotic Resistance Kits Receive CE Mark

NEW YORK – Streck announced Monday its ARM-D antibiotic resistance surveillance kits for the OXA, mobilized colistin resistance, and TEM/SHV/GES gene families received the CE mark and are now available in parts of Europe and Canada.

The real-time PCR kits can detect more than 1,000 antimicrobial resistance gene variants, including carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae, carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter, ampCs, extended-spectrum beta-lactamases, and mcr, La Vista, Nebraska-based Streck said.

Variants detected in the OXA, mcr, and TEM/SHV/GES gene families by Streck's kits aren't detectable by other methods or kits, according to the company. In areas other than the European Union and Canada, the kits are for research use only.
