NEW YORK — The China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved Cytek Biosciences' Cytek Northern Lights flow cytometer for clinical diagnostic use in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics in that country, the company said today.
The Cytek Northern Lights flow cytometer is upgradeable and available in configurations from one laser (nine colors) to three lasers (24+ colors) with high sensitivity and reagent flexibility, the firm said.
Cytek CEO Wenbin Jiang said in a statement that the NMPA approval represents "an important milestone. … At Cytek, we are fueling a movement to extend the benefits of flow cytometry from the few to the many. A key part of this process is continuing to extend and accelerate our reach and capabilities."
Fremont, California-based Cytek said the new approval follows the NMPA's clearance of its DxP Athena flow cytometry system and places the company on a path to offering a complete spectral flow cytometry solution — including instruments and reagents — to customers in China.
