Foodborne Pathogen Detection Firm Nemis Technologies Closes CHF 7.75M in Series A Financing

NEW YORK ─ Swiss biotech startup Nemis Technologies announced Thursday that it has closed a CHF 7.75 million ($8.44 million) Series A financing round with participation from unnamed institutional and private investors.

The Zurich-based company, which offers tests for foodborne pathogen detection, has developed technology that leverages synthetic molecules and chemiluminescence to detect microorganisms, according to the firm's website. Its technology enables the detection, identification, and monitoring of bacteria, parasites, viruses, and fungi, the firm said.

The company added that it will use the funding to scale up production, accelerate its international expansion, increase product development, and relocate to new laboratory and office facilities.

"The capital raised will enable us to accelerate our expansion in Europe and overseas," Nemis CEO Arnaud Muller said in a statement, adding that the funding will also support its development of additional diagnostic test kits and methods.
