NEW YORK (360Dx) – Lia Diagnostics today announced the US Food and Drug Administration has given 510(k) clearance for the Lia Pregnancy Test, making it the first FDA-cleared, flushable, biodegradable pregnancy test.

The test uses a proprietary coating technology, which combined with nonwoven and paper techniques, eliminates the need for plastic, rendering it water-dispersible and eco-friendly. The test is made of the same plant-based fibers as most toilet paper, according to Lia's website.
