SSI Diagnostica Group: Finn Albrechtsen, Nachum (Homi) Shamir, Ingo Chakravarty
SSI Diagnostica Group has appointed Finn Albrechtsen as head of global R&D, Nachum (Homi) Shamir as chair of its board of directors, and Ingo Chakravarty as a board member.
The firm said Albrechtsen is a trusted partner to the science community whose extensive experience in microbiology and clinical diagnostics will help the company prioritize and accelerate its research and development pipeline across group entities. His experience with strategy execution and change management within product pipelines are also a strong match to the SSID Group. Albrechtsen was previously the CEO of Vidya Holding, VP for R&D and business development in Thermo Fisher Scientific's Microbiology Division, and senior director of diagnostics and genomics portfolio and project management for Agilent Technologies.
Shamir, the longtime CEO and board chair for Luminex, led Luminex's acquisition of Nanosphere and the sale of the group to DiaSorin. He also served on the boards of Given Imaging, Cogentix Medical, and Invedo Medical.
Chakravarty most recently served as president and CEO of Mesa Labs, where he developed and grew the firm prior to its sale to Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to that appointment, he also worked in infectious disease diagnostics roles at Roche, Hologic, and GenMark. He is also an operating partner at Northpond Ventures.
