NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Mobidiag announced today that it has signed an agreement with PerkinElmer's Wallac Oy subsidiary to distribute its Amplidiag products in South Africa.
The agreement covers the firm's real-time PCR-based Amplidiag IVD gastrointestinal infection tests, such as the Amplidiag H. pylori+ClariR, Amplidiag Stool Parasites, Amplidiag CarbaR+VRE, Amplidiag C. difficile+027, and Amplidiag Bacterial GE, as well as the firm's high throughput Amplidiag Easy system.
"Thanks to a large distribution network, our Amplidiag product line is now accessible in most European countries," Mobidiag CEO Tuomas Tenkanen said in a statement, adding, "Our ambition is now to expand our coverage worldwide and towards new markets."
Hanna Halme, PerkinElmer's vice-president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, noted that the firm continues to expand its "infectious disease offerings in regions such as Africa to help meet the health needs of these populations."
Mobidiag has also said it is developing a lower throughput platform called Novodiag as well as assays for gastrointestinal, respiratory, blood, skin, and central nervous system infections.
