Laboratory Corporation of America: Weight Loss Management Portfolio
Laboratory Corporation of America this week introduced its Weight Loss Management portfolio, a collection of educational resources and lab tests to help individuals and their physicians track health indicators that could inform treatment options including lifestyle modifications, Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications, or bariatric surgery.
The portfolio consists of two test panels, the Weight Management Baseline Test, which measures 20 factors across blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, thyroid function, and metabolic function that can help inform weight management efforts, and the Weight Management Tracking Test, which assesses average blood sugar and lipid levels to monitor metabolic health over the course of an individual's weight loss program.
The company also offers a bariatric surgery test portfolio with pre- and post-surgery profiles that provide insights on key vitamins and micronutrients that are recommended to be evaluated for potential deficiencies before and after surgery.
