Bio-Rad Laboratories Specialty Immunoassay Plus

Bio-Rad Laboratories has launched Specialty Immunoassay Plus (SPIA Plus), a consolidated liquid specialty immunoassay quality control reagent. 

SPIA Plus is a four-level control designed to monitor the precision of specialty immunoassay testing procedures and is available in barcoded, load-and-go InteliQ and standard vial Liquichek configurations. It features clinically relevant analytes such as procalcitonin, IL-6, active vitamin B12, TRAb, TSI, fructosamine, and others. It also contains optimized Vitamin D ranges to support Vitamin D Standardization Program (VDSP) compliant assays as well as improved intact parathyroid hormone open-vial stability to minimize QC waste. 

The control is offered in automation-compatible configurations to enable load-and-go efficiency. SPIA Plus’ InteliQ format is intended to streamline laboratory workflows, while integration with Bio-Rad's Unity data management software enables results comparison with a peer group of reporting labs for added confidence in instrument performance and patients results.
