NEW YORK — British technology and product development company TTP has exclusively licensed its Puckdx sample-to-answer molecular diagnostics system to DiaSorin for human in vitro diagnostic (IVD) applications, the companies said on Monday.
Puckdx is a disposable robotic pipette system with a PCR module that runs reagent-containing test cartridges. According to the companies, Saluggia, Italy-based DiaSorin will use the system as the basis of a point-of-care diagnostic platform for single-use assays.
Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed. TTP noted that DiaSorin's license does not include areas outside of human IVDs such as sample preparation and animal health.
"We are delighted that DiaSorin has chosen Puckdx as their preferred POC platform," TTP Consultant Giles Sanders said in a statement. "We look forward to working in close partnership with DiaSorin to rapidly commercialize the platform."
