NEW YORK (360Dx) – Thermo Fisher Scientific has received CE marking for the Phadia 200, a benchtop instrument to test for allergies and autoimmunity conditions.
The instrument, which quantifies clinically relevant antibodies in blood, can perform up to 700 different ImmunoCAP and EliA tests. According to Thermo Fisher, it is currently being installed at several sites in Europe.
The Phadia 200 can process 42 samples in parallel and provide up to 200 test results per day. It is designed for smaller diagnostics facilities that want to increase their throughput and efficiency.
"Testing in the allergy and autoimmunity disease areas is changing faster than ever before in a consolidating laboratory market," said Stefan Wolf, president of immunodiagnostics at Thermo Fisher, in a statement. "The Phadia 200 instrument is a significant step forward in bringing full automation and efficiency to diagnostic testing facilities of all sizes. It enables labs to offer a wide range of tests in fast-growing markets and supports continued growth in more established markets."
