NEW YORK – Inspirata said on Friday that it has entered into a technical partnership with artificial intelligence provider DeePathology to enable use of DeePathology’s H.Pylori Decision Support System with Inspirata's Dynamyx digital pathology workflow solution.
Tampa, Florida-based Inspirata said that with DeePathology, it aims to improve reporting accuracy and safely accelerate the Helicobacter pylori diagnostic process.
Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Testing is routinely performed for H. Pylori using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Giemsa-stained gastric biopsies. However, present analogue testing methods require the intervention of a pathologist. Additionally, they are time-consuming, and relevant bacteria are often missed, Inspirata said.
To address such challenges, Ra'anana, Israel-based DeePathology has launched its H. Pylori Decision Support System, which it developed to explore how AI-based image analysis techniques could be used to assist pathologists with finding and confirming the likely presence of H. Pylori.
In the integration of Inspirata and DeePathology products, the H. Pylori Decision Support System automatically reads, detects, and ranks images consistent with the presence of H. Pylori as they are integrated into Dynamyx. The system then provides a report for pathologists that shows the likelihood that H. Pylori is present, Inspirata said.
