NEW YORK (360Dx) – Atomo Diagnostics and Owen Mumford announced on Tuesday a deal to commercialize Atomo's HIV tests in Europe.
Owen Mumford has acquired the exclusive rights to Atomo's CE-marked HIV tests and will bring them to market in Europe under the Simplitude brand sometime this year. The firms are also considering options to extend the agreement to include Atomo's HIV self-test. Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Atomo's tests leverage the firm's AtomoRapid technology to detect the presence of HIV antibodies from a finger prick of blood and provides results in minutes.
Based in Sydney, Atomo develops rapid diagnostic tests for use with capillary blood samples. Owen Mumford is headquartered in Woodstock, England and commercializes medical products.
