NEW YORK (360Dx) — Transfusion and transplantation diagnostics company Immucor announced today that it has signed a 10-year agreement to provide Canada's CoLabs Laboratory Medical Network with its automated blood testing instrumentation and data-management technology.
Under the terms of the deal, CoLabs will install Immucor's Neo and Echo automated immunohematology testing instruments at its two high-volume labs, and one Echo instrument at each of its other 11 sites. Additionally, CoLabs will use Immucor's ImmuLink centralized data-management product to connect the instruments between all 13 sites.
Additional terms of the agreement, which is between Immucor and group purchasing organization Mohawk Medbury, were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to build a system together that will allow for a regional model of technical and professional expertise," CoLabs Executive Director David Langstaff said in a statement. "By standardizing instruments and providing connectivity across all our sites, we will be bringing equal access to the latest technology for the benefits of our patients and laboratory staff across the region."
