NEW YORK – ReadyGo Diagnostics said Tuesday that it has inked an agreement for Porex to manufacture and distribute ReadyGo's sample collection and preparation device for diagnostic testing.
The ReadyGo Sampler provides a streamlined alternative to swab-based collection of saliva, buccal, blood, and urine samples for use in applications including lateral flow, molecular, and biochemical testing, Bath, UK-based ReadyGo said in a statement. Porex will use its ISO 13485-certified manufacturing operations to produce and distribute the sampler.
"The healthcare industry urgently needs better sample collection methods, and the Sampler is our answer to this challenge," ReadyGo Diagnostics CEO Ben Cobb said in a statement. "By integrating swab and chemistry into a single user-friendly device, the Sampler simplifies the collection process for users of all skill levels, supporting both antigen and molecular tests."
Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ReadyGo said that the Porex media in the sampler allows the collection of precise sample volumes to help ensure reproducible results across tests, and it uses materials that are biochemistry disposable. Company officials also said last year that they had developed the one-piece disposable device to wick up a defined amount of patient sample using capillary action and aid sample preparation by incorporating lysis reagents.
