LabCorp Extends Exclusive Agreement With Texas Association of Community Health Centers

NEW YORK (360Dx) – Laboratory Corporation of America has extended its agreement to be the exclusive preferred laboratory for the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC), a nonprofit serving an estimated 1 million patients within the most vulnerable populations across Texas.

Under the new agreement, TACHC and LabCorp will use data analytics to identify population health trends, enabling targeted community and individual outreach about screening, monitoring, and treatment options for common health conditions. TACHC intends to make LabCorp's Litholink clinical decision support programs available to its members with the goal of improving the care of patients with chronic kidney disease and diabetes. The programs provide targeted guidance to clinicians and patients about the most appropriate tests, treatments, and lifestyle options. The patient-focused information supports better management of those conditions, aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing cost.

The new agreement is an extension of a more than 25-year relationship between LabCorp and TACHC. TACHC has approximately 75 service centers with more than 500 locations across Texas.

"LabCorp can provide tailored solutions to meet the individualized needs of the patients our customers serve, and we are very excited to bring more of our experience to TACHC and its members," said Bob Nelson, senior vice president for LabCorp Diagnostics' Mid-America Division, in a statement.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
