NEW YORK – Becton Dickinson announced on Tuesday that it will collaborate with ReturnSafe to provide a COVID-19 testing and software solution for employee health and compliance. The firms will now integrate the BD Veritor At-Home COVID-19 Test within the ReturnSafe testing management platform.
Dave Hickey, president of Life Sciences for BD, noted in a statement that the Veritor At-Home test, which received Emergency Use Authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration in August, provides "verifiable" and "definitive" results because it can only be read by a smartphone. The results are provided as a digital display of the word "positive" or "negative" that is dated and time-stamped in the app, with the capability of fully automating the reporting of employee test results to businesses or organizations.
ReturnSafe Cofounder and VP of business development Jason Story said the collaboration with BD "will help employers across the country keep their doors open while complying with local and federal mandates."
BD further noted that the addition of ReturnSafe gives these organizations insights and tools to manage their testing programs at scale. Employees can test at home, while employers can "collect test results, track who has completed testing requirements on time, quickly identify positive cases to act, manage isolation and quarantine workflows, as well as collect data for compliance reporting," the Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based firm said.
