Quest Diagnostics Collaborating With Google to Use Data Analytics and AI in Lab Operations

NEW YORK – Quest Diagnostics said Tuesday that it is collaborating with Google to use Google Cloud's data analytics and generative AI technologies in its lab operations.

Quest said it aims through the collaboration to streamline data management, improve data analytics, and personalize the experiences of its patients, providers, and other customers.

Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The parties will explore the use of generative AI in a number of areas including providing patients and physicians with personalized health insights based on their lab data. The collaboration builds on Quest's ongoing efforts to implement AI and automation to improve its operations.

"This collaboration with Quest Diagnostics marks an important moment in healthcare innovation," Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said in a statement. "By combining Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI and data analytics capabilities with Quest's vast network and deep healthcare expertise, we're helping improve diagnostics and patient care."

"Data management has gone through significant generational changes in recent years and is only accelerating today with generative AI. Quest's relationship with Google will enable Quest to capitalize on the rapidly changing technology landscape to evolve customer insights in a responsible, trusted, and secure manner."
