NEW YORK (360Dx) – Quest Diagnostics today announced it has acquired fertility diagnostics service firm ReproSource for an undisclosed amount.
Based Woburn, Massachusetts, ReproSource provides services such as ovarian health and recurrent pregnancy loss assessments, as well as implantation failure and semen quality.
According to the company's website, it purchased the assets of "the largest fertility-focused laboratory in the United States" in 2008, and since then it improved and expanded its core services while establishing partnerships with laboratory, academic, and industry players in the US and globally.
"Our acquisition of ReproSource delivers on our accelerate growth strategy, particularly in advanced diagnostics, and our goal to deliver the broadest access to diagnostic innovation," Quest Chairman, President, and CEO Steve Rusckowski said in a statement. "ReproSource is recognized for evidence-based expertise in reproductive diagnostics and will extend our breadth of services for providers and their patients."
Quest said it plans to offer ReproSource's services as part of its comprehensive women's health and reproductive offerings.
The deal comes on the heels of the Secaucus, New Jersey-based firm's agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of workplace wellness company Hooper Holmes, doing business as Provant Health, at the end of August for $27 million.
