NEW YORK — Quest Diagnostics said on Tuesday that it has acquired certain assets of Boca Raton, Florida-based clinical lab National Laboratory Services for an undisclosed price.
As part of the deal, Secaucus, New Jersey-based Quest will acquire several of NLS' patient service centers throughout South Florida. Testing services previously provided by NLS will move to Quest's Miramar, Florida, laboratory.
"Access to quality, innovative, and cost-effective laboratory services is more important now than ever, given the twin health threats of COVID-19 and delays in medical care caused by the pandemic," Alan Myers, VP and general manager, Southeast Region, Quest Diagnostics, said in a statement. "We look forward to delivering diagnostic insights for COVID-19 and a range of other medical conditions to help empower better care and outcomes, particularly for communities in South Florida."
During the company's second quarter earnings conference call, its management team indicated that it would be once again eyeing M&A opportunities.
