NEW YORK (360Dx) — Health plan management firm MagnaCare said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement to offer BeaconLBS's point-of-care physician decision support platform to its network of physician and laboratory providers.
Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Montvale, New Jersey-based BeaconLBS is a subsidiary of Laboratory Corporation of America.
The platform leverages electronic health records and lab ordering systems to provide physicians with access to evidence-based guidelines and pricing information that can help guide test and lab facility selection.
"By optimizing lab ordering for genetic and molecular testing, physicians can order tests with greater confidence," MagnaCare Chief Medical Officer Bartley Bryt said in a statement. "The BeaconLBS ... platform will also help us reduce costs for our clients and members and provide better care for patients through faster and more accurate testing."
MagnaCare — a division of New York City-based Brighton Health Plan Solutions — said it will make the BeaconLBS platform available later this year.
