NEW YORK – Laboratory Corporation of America said Tuesday that it has entered into a collaboration with Alabama-based Infirmary Health to provide laboratory services to the system's patients.
Under the multiyear agreement, Burlington, North Carolina-based LabCorp will provide lab management, phlebotomy, logistics services, and reference testing to Infirmary Health.
LabCorp said that its initial focus will be on improving turnaround time and improving access to innovative diagnostics at Infirmary's acute care facilities and to help the system increase its SARS-CoV-2 testing capacity.

"As a highly regarded laboratory with strong roots in Alabama, LabCorp’s expertise will help bring an enhanced laboratory experience to Infirmary Health, including testing for COVID-19 that is vitally needed by the providers and patients we serve."
Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
