NEW YORK (360DX) — Laboratory Corporation of America today announced it has entered into a partnership with Capital Health to serve as a reference lab for the hospital group and provide other laboratory support services.
Through the partnership, LabCorp will provide reference testing services to Capital Health's hospitals, cancer center and outpatient clinics. It will also provide services to implement process and technical improvements at Capital Health's impatient laboratories. In addition, frequently ordered tests and stat testing performed by Capital Health's hospital laboratories will be supported by LabCorp's expertise in phlebotomy, logistics, and information technology.
Capital Health has two hospitals and an outpatient facility in New Jersey, and primary and specialty care practices serving Central and Southern New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Separately, LabCorp also announced a partnership with MC10, a wearable sensor company, for LabCorp's Covance Drug Development business to use MC10's technology in clinical trials, research studies, and patient testing, and monitoring.
As part of the deal LabCorp said it has invested an undisclosed amount in MC10.
Financial terms for both deals were not disclosed.
