NEW YORK – A partnership called Atalan has been launched to provide clinicians greater access to clinical laboratories, Froedtert Health, Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories, and HealthEco announced on Thursday.
According to the partners, the Milwaukee-based Atalan network will provide academic medical centers, community hospitals, and health systems access to continuity of care, novel diagnostics, and expertise through a single platform.
"Through our partnership and platform, Atalan allows any provider, anywhere, to access high-quality diagnostics without having to buy expensive equipment, hire pathologists, or lose access to their patients," Wisconsin Diagnostics Laboratories Chief Administrative Officer Robin Herbner said in a statement. "For health systems, this means creating profit instead of losing dollars by referring a patient's test elsewhere."
Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Diagnostics Laboratories is a full-service laboratory provider, while Froedtert Health is a healthcare system based in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Denver-based HealthEco is an investment and advisory firm that partners with US health systems.
