NEW YORK — 9am.health, a provider of type 2 diabetes management services, said on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to offer at-home laboratory testing services in partnership with BioReference Laboratories.
Under the terms of the deal, San Diego-based 9am.health will offer its customers access to BioReference's Scarlet Health blood-drawing service for $15 per month. Additional terms were not disclosed.
"Labs are a key part of managing chronic diseases and adjusting medication doses … [but] the frequency and burden associated with going to a lab can lead to patients dropping off from their regular therapy schedule," 9am.health Chief Medical Officer Paul Geevarghese said in a statement. "By sending a health professional to the home, we can collect the most comprehensive data on blood glucose, kidney function, liver function, cholesterol, electrolytes, and more while removing the unnecessary barriers that make it hard to keep up with traditional medical care."
Elmwood Park, New Jersey-based BioReference, a subsidiary of Opko Health, launched Scarlet Health in early 2021.
