NEW YORK (360Dx) — Ortho Clinical Diagnostics announced today that it has received CE marking for its Vitros XT 7600 integrated clinical chemistry system.
According to the company, the system does not require water to run, features full testing environments on postage stamp-sized microslides that can run two tests each, and incorporates digital imaging technology. The combination of the technologies, Ortho Clinical said, allows for the introduction of digital chemistry to clinical lab management.
As a result of the CE mark, the Vitros XT 7600 can be marketed to parts of Europe that recognize the designation. The system is also available in certain markets in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. An Ortho spokesperson said that the company plans to submit the system to the US Food and Drug Administration soon.
