FDA Clears Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics Allergy Testing Instrument

NEW YORK (360Dx) – Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics announced on Wednesday that the US Food and Drug Administration cleared the company Optigen AP 3600 high capacity allergy testing system.

The instrument provides increased throughput and allows true walk-away time, according to the Mountain View, California-based company, which added that the system can process up to 100 panels, or as many as 3,600 individual allergen results, in one day.

"The instrument brings the feature set and functionality required by today's reference laboratories and maintains a cost-effective and operationally efficient form factor, making it suitable for regional clinics and labs," said Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics President and CEO Noriaki Kawata in a statement.

The firm is a subsidiary of Hitachi Chemical Co. America.
