NEW YORK – Digital pathology firm PathPresenter said Thursday that it has raised $7.5 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was led by Avant Bio with participation by Barco NV and Modi Ventures. Montville, New Jersey-based PathPresenter said that it will use the money to advance the features and interoperability capabilities of its enterprise digital slide image sharing platform, invest in engineering and commercial personnel, and help the company reach regulatory milestones.
PathPresenter said that its vendor-agnostic platform is used by more than 50 hospitals, labs, and pharma companies to create digital pathology workflows and connect with experts. It said that the artificial intelligence-based algorithms and foundational models that are incorporated into the platform are used to help improve patient outcomes and return on investments into digital pathology.
PathPresenter CEO Patrick Myles said in a statement that PathPresenter is creating the "roads and bridges" for institutions and pathologists to more easily share image data, AI-based tools, and expertise. "This investment reaffirms the potential of our platform and team and the critical role that vendor-agnostic workflow plays in pathology's digital future," he added.
