NEW YORK – Werfen will continue distributing Thermo Fisher Scientific's TCAutomation Laboratory Automation Solutions as part of Werfen's hemostasis testing workcell under a long-term worldwide deal announced by the firms on Thursday.
Barcelona, Spain-based Werfen's HemoCell Specialized Lab Automation workcell is comprised of the firm's ACL TOP Family 50 Series hemostasis testing instruments and HemoHub Intelligent Data Manager along with Waltham, Massachusetts-based Thermo Fisher Scientific's TCAutomation equipment. The exclusive partnership agreement in hemostasis diagnostics continues a deal signed in 2015 allowing Werfen to offer the HemoCell system.
The firms said HemoCell's laboratory workflow integrates all testing phases, standardizes sample processing, offers consistent turnaround times for routine and STAT samples, and allows increased walkaway time for lab staff.
The TCAutomation system is designed to give laboratories modular, flexible, connected workflows and help manage workloads and improve quality while automating the most labor-intensive analytical tasks and interfacing with a wide range of analyzers.
The ACL TOP Family 50 Series instruments offer assay-specific pre-analytical sample integrity checks, advanced quality management, lab accreditation tools, and flexibility with track sampling and front-loading. The HemoHub data manager provides centralized hemostasis testing management and sample routing with real-time adaptations and queue balancing, as well as access to Werfen testing systems for operational performance, quality management, and clinical decision support.
