NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Quest Diagnostics will acquire PeaceHealth's outreach laboratory services and manage 11 PeaceHealth laboratories under two agreements announced on Wednesday.
Quest will acquire the not-for-profit healthcare system's outreach lab service operation under a definitive agreement. Under a professional laboratory services agreement, Quest will manage 11 labs that PeaceHealth will continue to own. The labs serve PeaceHealth's medical centers in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
The deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year. Further details of the agreement were not disclosed.
According to Quest, the transactions will "improve access to innovative, convenient, and high-value laboratory diagnostic services" throughout the Pacific Northwest, giving patients and physicians access to an enhanced testing menu, as well as an expanded network of patient service centers.
The deal "delivers on our strategy to accelerate growth and drive operational excellence through strategically aligned, accretive acquisitions," Quest Chairman, President, and CEO Steve Rusckowski said in a statement.
