NEW YORK – Digital pathology firms Paige and OptraScan announced on Thursday that they are partnering to streamline digital pathology workflows in the US, EU, and UK.
The companies will integrate Paige's artificial intelligence-based digital pathology applications with OptraScan's scanners to provide end-to-end digital pathology workflow solutions, they said in a statement. Pathologists will be able to adopt Paige's applications, such as its FullFocus whole-slide image viewer and its Paige Prostate Suite, along with OptraScan's scanning devices.
OptraScan's devices have 15- to 480-slide loading capabilities that can digitize glass slides at 40X magnification in less than one minute, the firms noted. San Jose, California-based OptraScan's OS-Ultra line of brightfield scanners received CE marking in July.
"OptraScan's mission to enable pathology slide digitization at fractional costs is eventually resulting into higher market demand for digital pathology applications," OptraScan Founder and CEO Abhi Gholap said in a statement. "This partnership with Paige will facilitate adoption of digital infrastructure for global clinical and molecular pathology community in an efficient way."
