NEW YORK (360Dx) – Sysmex said on Thursday that it has received a contract to upgrade and expand the hematology testing capability of Canadian laboratory service provider LifeLabs.
The firm said that in 2018, Sysmex Canada will replace LifeLabs' hematology analyzers at 12 sites throughout British Columbia and Ontario, and extend the partnership between the two entities for an additional five years.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The partnership will enhance productivity, efficiency, and collaboration at all LifeLabs locations, while reducing processing time, Sysmex said. The firm noted that it will provide scalable solutions customized for the labs' needs. For example, locations with greater testing volume will benefit from Sysmex's XN-Series of hematology technology, paired with integrated digital morphology, the firm said.
Key outcomes sought from the agreement include reductions in waste and time needed to replace reagents, greater efficiency with digital morphology capability, and optimized cross-lab communication, Sysmex said.
