Haemonetics Acquires Blood Coagulation Test System Developer Enicor

Haemonetics Corporation announced Thursday it has acquired the outstanding share capital of German blood coagulation test system developer Enicor.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Enicor's ClotPro system is a viscoelastic device with an active tip that reduces manual pipetting, mitigating potential errors and eliminating reagent handling, the company said. The ClotPro system received a CE mark last year and is available in certain European and Asian Pacific markets.

Under the agreement, Enicor's CEO and Founder Andreas Calatzis will join Haemonetics as the VP and general manager of Enicor.

Boston-based Haemonetics offers a variety of hematology products for blood management, from blood and plasma component collection to hospital transfusion services. The company's TEG Hemostasis Analyzer system identifies a patient's hemostasis condition in laboratory or point-of-care environments.
