Gradientech Adds Northern European Distributor

NEW YORK — Gradientech said on Monday that it has partnered with Triolab Group to serve customers in Northern Europe. Triolab will sell Gradientech's QuickMIC antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) system in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Peter Karlberg, VP of sales at Uppsala, Sweden-based Gradientech, in a statement called Triolab the "leading distributor of the region" in the firm's market segment, and said the deal represents "another important piece in the foundation that will pivot us towards our goal of becoming the leading rapid AST solution."

Gradientech currently serves Austria, Switzerland, and much of Central Eastern Europe through a distribution agreement with Biomedica.

Gradientech's microfluidics-based QuickMIC system relies on antibiotic-embedded agarose gels and automated microscopy to determine the minimum necessary antibiotic concentration from a positive blood culture in around two hours. The company gained a CE-IVD mark for the system and a gram-negative bacterial panel in May.
